St. Michael the Archangel Parish

St. Mary of the Angels Oratory

Mission Statement

We, the people of St. Michael the Archangel Parish, with the guidance of the Holy Spirit, seek to know, love and serve God by committing ourselves to be people of prayer, dedicated to our baptismal promises, and enlightened by the message of the Holy Scriptures. We endeavor to humbly share our individual gifts and talents in a unified effort as the Body of Christ, to reach out and sustain all those in need within our parish, our local communities, and the world, in a spirit of compassion and generosity, thereby spreading the word of God, the grace of love of Jesus Christ, and His redemptive gift of salvation.

Important Notes as we resume public liturgies

Dear Parishioners,

“Social distancing doesn’t mean that we are not together.”

1. Per the Bishop's directives, it is recommended that all individuals who are age 65+ or who have an at-risk health condition avoid public liturgy and utilize TV Mass. For this reason, Bishop Rhoades has extended the dispensation from the obligation to attend Sunday Mass for all Catholics in our diocese through November 1, 2020.

2. Anyone with a cough or fever, or who may otherwise be feeling sick, should not come to church for Mass or any other reason.

3. Please sanitize your hands as you enter the church.

4. All congregants (except for little children and those who would have trouble breathing) must wear a mask or face covering out of concern for fellow parishioners. Congregants will remove masks only to receive Holy Communion.

5. Pews will be marked to allow for proper social distancing of 6 feet between individuals or family units of the same household. Please sit only in the designated pews.

6. Social distancing of 6 feet applies to the entire church campus, including a single Communion line, Parish Hall, bathrooms, office, parking lot, etc. (Please observe socially distanced floor markings for the Communion line and bathroom lines.)

7. Confessions will be heard in the sacristry instead of the confessional from 7:30-8:00 am on Fridays, 5:00-5:45 pm on Saturdays, and anytime by request.

*Extra ushers/lectors needed*  Current Lectors or Ushers who fall into the high risk category will not be asked to minister during this time. This creates a need for more volunteers in these roles. If you are able to lector or usher, please contact the parish office. (Until further notice, there will be no Greeters, Servers or Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion.)
