The next steps on the journey...

New members, whether children or adults, are brought into the Church through the sacraments of baptism, Confirmation, and communion. These sacraments are often called "the sacraments of initiation" because through these sacred prayers, individuals are initiated into the People of God. Adults prepare for these sacraments through ceremonies and programs called the Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults - or RCIA.

RCIA - What is it and how do I get there?

St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Parish in Waterloo begins a new RCIA group every autumn. We meet weekly between the Sunday Masses (at 9:00 a.m.) for a learning session. Along the way, we prepare ourselves for our lives as Roman Catholics. Then at the Easter Vigil Mass each year, new members are brought into full membership of the Catholic Church through the holy sacraments.
